RICCOBONI GROUP ALWAYS BY THE SIDE OF ORGANISERS OF THE CITY OF ALESSANDRIA
“EUGENIO TAVERNA MEMORIAL” NATIONAL WHEELCHAIR TENNIS TOURNAMEN
Once again this year, Riccoboni Group confirmed its role as the main sponsor of the City of Alessandria “Eugenio Taverna Memorial” National Wheelchair Tennis Tournament, now in its 9th year, which took place from 18th to 21st September at the Nuova Saves sports centre, organised by SSD Volare and supported by the Municipality of Alessandria, the Region of Piedmont and the Italian Paralympic Committee. Ilaria Riccoboni, Riccoboni Holding’s Communications Manager, explained “with our partnership, we are once again proud to support the growth of the City of Alessandria “Eugenio Taverna Memorial” National Wheelchair Tennis Tournament. Indeed, we believe in the sporting and educational values that this important event brings with it. We understand that we are facing an important example for the region’s social growth, which also aims to raise awareness about strengthening the values of inclusion and emancipation through sport while the dedication shown by the tennis players who will take part in the tournament proves how major results can also be achieved in life”.
The Riccoboni Group’s partnership with SBEM Festival in Alessandria is driven by the values of sport, well-being and inclusion
This festival, created by ACMeventi with support from the Region of Piedmont and help from the Province of Alessandria and the City of Alessandria, involved institutions, schools, sports clubs and third-sector organisations. Among them, a leading role was entrusted to Abilitando Onlus, which coordinated inclusive games together with CUSPO, Derthona Basket and the Sportella association. Touch rugby, baskin and showdown will be the iconic sports of this approach that focuses on inclusion, with non-disabled and disabled young people competing side by side in a sporting experience without barriers.
“SBEM is not just a festival” emphasised Alessandra De Stefani, the President of ACMeventi, “but rather an opportunity for sporting and cultural growth for the entire community. It is a meeting point for families, schools and associations who, thanks to their commitment, offer new opportunities to young people and share the values of inclusion, collaboration and team spirit”.
“Sport is a universal language that unites and breaks down invisible barriers” underlined Paolo Robutti, the President of Abilitando Onlus. “In these inclusive games, the young people will discover that the simplest gesture, pass or applause can become the sign of real change”.
Alongside the Festival, there are also private partners and, from this year on, Riccoboni Holding has chosen to support the initiative as a sponsor.
“Our excellent partnership with the Province of Alessandria has led us to enthusiastically get behind Sport Benessere e Movimento”, said Ilaria Riccoboni, Riccoboni Holding’s Communications Manager. “We believe that sport should be for all and everyone should have the opportunity to find a sporting discipline and environment which they can enjoy and helps with their physical and mental growth. We have therefore also decided to be the first private partner of RE-PLAY 2.0, a pathway for personal and community growth which came from the desire to turn sport into a vehicle for social change, sport not just as competition, but also a way of breaking down barriers. For our part, we would also like to bring good examples that accompany green transition processes and respect for the environment”.
